THE CPM CONNECTION - Improvised music group, in association with Cerebral Palsy Midlands.

Back in 2012, veteran CPM service user and rock music fan, Gary Ironmonger, began participating in guitar jam sessions with then volunteer tutor, Matthew Hale.

The development of the project since then has been something of a phenomenon. With the addition of more donated instruments and a steady increase in attendance from a diverse group of other CPM service users, these sessions (collectively known as The CPM Connection) have provided an awesome platform for expression and interaction.

Matthew (also known by his stage name Miles Perhower) is a prominent figure within the alternative music and arts community in Birmingham, and is now an enthusiastic member of the Cerebral Palsy Midlands team. Through this inspirational and often highly creative work, he and his technical assistant, Ben Linstead, are constantly looking for new ways to adapt these music sessions to meet the various and sometimes complex needs of service users.
